Sickle Cell Anemia - Form I What causes it?

After reading the central portion with its summaries click on the tab to the left that says "How is it Inherited?" 

Read the section, answering the questions below as you go.

 Question 1: What can you say about ALL of the Punnet squares? What kind of "cross" are they? What can you say about ALL of the parents in these crosses?

Question 2: What are SC and SB? 

Question 3: What do you think would happen (to the children) if both parents were S?

Question 4:  Be sure to identify the case study clearly in your answer.

Case Study A-The father has sickle cell disease and the mother is "AA". What are the odds of having a child with sickle cell disease?

Case Study B-The father has sickle cell disease and the mother is heterozygous for the trait. What are the odds of having a child with sickle cell disease?

Case Study C-The father and mother meet at a support group for people with sickle cell disease. What are the odd of having a child with sickle cell disease?
